Introducing Kate Downie: Our New Chief Global Growth Officer

We are excited to welcome Kate Downie as The Marketing Room’s new Chief Global Growth Officer. With over 20 years of experience in driving growth, collaboration, and storytelling, Kate is a dynamic addition to our leadership team. Her extensive experience in producing television commercials across the globe—from Iceland and Mexico to the USA and Australia—has seen her partner with some of the world’s biggest brands, including Google Australia, Tourism WA, Citizen Watches, Lotterywest, Expedia, IKEA, McDonald’s, Nikon, Nestlé, AFL, and many more.

Kate has a strong passion for growth and storytelling, and her background spans both creative expertise and business acumen. Having owned her own business and managed the challenges of balancing work with family life as a mum of two, Kate knows what it takes to juggle projects, people, and personal commitments. This experience has shaped her belief in creating an industry that supports and uplifts women, championing flexibility, mentorship, and opportunity.

Kate was drawn to The Marketing Room because of our unique purpose—to support marketing professionals returning to the workforce after maternity leave by offering flexible part-time roles. She recognizes the value of providing a platform for talented professionals to continue their careers while balancing family commitments, and she is excited to contribute to this cause.
